We want everything!

“All power to the imagination!”, “It’s only a beginning!”, “Beauty is in the street!”, “Let’s assault the sky!”, “Take your wishes for reality!”. These are just some of the slogans that invaded the streets of the student cities in Sixty-eight.
A phenomenon that in different countries and in different ways provoked the revolution in many areas of society, and that comes from ErosAntEros traced in a flow of text interpreted by a single performer on stage. She is a young militant in contemporary clothes who finds herself in the paradoxical situation of wanting to transmit the momentum and the collective dimension of the struggles in complete solitude, using yesterday’s language as if it were today’s, counterpointed by a video montage in which the archive images are mixed with those of today’s news, recreating unexpected cracs and analogies. To do this we collected the testimonies of the protagonists of ’68 and interviewed the young people active in today’s movements. The voices of the contemporary militants, along with the fight songs of the past and today, contribute to the creation of a soundscape inspired by the compositions for voice and tape by Luigi Nono.

There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can’t take part; you can’t even passively take part, and you’ve got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you’ve got to make it stop. And you’ve got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you’re free, the machine will be prevented from working at all!
