HOMO SUM. Human rights between representation and reality
workshop led by Davide Sacco and Agata Tomšič / ErosAntEros
For years now, the theatre of ErosAntEros has been carrying on a poetics that questions the present, combining the investigation of politically committed content with a formal research that oscillates between fiction and reality, between past and present, to project itself towards tomorrow. The protection of fundamental rights within contemporary democracies is at the centre of the production Disconcert for rights. The workshop wants to deepen this theme further, to share with the participants some of the company’s practices: the Atlas composition; the musical reading of the text; the editing of different scenic languages.
The application is submitted via email – putting in the object Name and Surname / Laboratory: HOMO SUM; specifying in the text of the email your badge number, phone contact, 10 lines of presentation, and attaching to the email your CV.
The email must be received at email@example.com no later than October 15th 2021.
Participants will be asked to read the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and to bring 1 text (max. half page) + 2 images or videos of their choice, which for them are exemplary of the protection/non-protection of human rights in contemporary democracies. The texts can be taken from poetic or literary works, investigative or journalistic texts, historical fragments or current affairs. The images and/or videos can be taken from works of art, documentary material or other media sources.
Free participation reserved to 15 students of the University of Bologna
To participate, the possession of the Covid-19 Green Certification (Green Pass) and the use of the mask are required
The workshop is part of the focus “CONTINUONS LE COMBAT” curated by Marco De Marinis, within La Soffitta – Centre for theatrical promotion of the Department of Arts of the University of Bologna, in collaboration with ERT – Fondazione Emilia Romagna Teatro.
