From the light of the mosaic to the prophetic image

A poetic-musical show that brings together the verses of Dante with mosaic works in places of worship of Ravenna in which the poet was inspired to describe the indescribable in the last two canticas of the Divine Comedy.

Starting in 2017, ErosAntEros relates to Dante’s work and his relationship with the city of Ravenna, where in 2021 we will celebrate the 700th anniversary of his death.
We decide to reflect on this presence that has so strongly marked the territory in which we live and the culture of the whole world, through a poetic-musical project dedicated to the debt that the Divine Comedy has with the places where its last two canticas were composed . We put ourselves at the service of Dante’s words to exalt its intrinsic musicality through the sound-vocal research that is typical of our theatrical work, and at the same time we put ourselves in dialogue with the mosaic works that inspired the poet’s writing and that still populate the walls of the cultural sites of Ravenna. To these are added visions of natural paradises, such as the Classe pine forest, evoked by Dante himself at the gates of the earthly Paradise, and the wooded landscapes of the Natisone river valleys, where the natural beauties hide the infernal sign of the passage of the man, that has left indelible traces in the territory through the wars.
